Trip chapter 14
Edmonton to Saskatoon
A border-crossing drive from Edmonton to Saskatoon, with a Lloydminster leg stretch, an Airbnb yard and a downtown riverfront walk.

On July 13 we left Edmonton and headed east across the Saskatchewan border toward Saskatoon. The first real break was Lloydminster, the border city split between Alberta and Saskatchewan.
A border-city leg stretch
In Lloydminster we walked around the city hall area to stretch our legs. It was not a complicated stop, but there was enough nice grass nearby for Tilly to have a useful break from the car before we kept driving.

In Saskatoon we stayed at an Airbnb in a nice neighbourhood that was not too far to walk downtown. The big win for Tilly was the enclosed yard, and we sat outside quite a bit while we were there.
The tradeoff was the house rules. There were lots of rules about the dog not being on furniture or in bedrooms, so it was a good stay but not a totally relaxed one for dog logistics.

I also completed my citizenship ceremony on Zoom while we were in Saskatoon and became a Canadian citizen. Naturally, Tilly was dressed up in a bandana for the occasion.

We did not end up visiting any Saskatoon patios during the stay. Instead, one evening we walked downtown and explored the riverfront with Tilly.
