Trip chapter 02
Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu to Fredericton
A long drive from Québec to Fredericton, followed by a return to the Comfort Inn and the Botanic Garden hike we missed the year before.

After our first night in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Tilly and I had a long travel day ahead to Fredericton. It was familiar territory from the previous summer, including a return to the same hotel.
Back at the Comfort Inn
We stayed again at the Comfort Inn Fredericton on Prospect Street. Its location near Odell Park and the Fredericton Botanic Garden had been one of the reasons for choosing it the year before, even though fire-risk closures prevented us from using either place on that visit.

Comfort Inn Fredericton
A practical dog-friendly hotel near Odell Park and the Fredericton Botanic Garden where Tilly stayed with us in both 2025 and 2026.

This year, Odell Park and the Botanic Garden were open. After missing them entirely on the 2025 trip, we finally got the walk I had hoped for: flower beds, gravel paths and wooded trails, all close to the hotel.

We took a lovely hike through the Botanic Garden and into the connected trails of Odell Park. Tilly stayed on leash as we moved from the cultivated garden paths into the shaded woodland. It was exactly the kind of walk we needed after a long day in the car.
Fredericton Botanic Garden
A free public garden beside Odell Park, with colourful plantings and connected woodland trails that made a lovely leashed hike with Tilly.
