A dog exploring Saskatoon

The dog-friendly guide to

Saskatoon

A yard for Tilly, an easy downtown walk and a citizenship ceremony on Zoom.

Field notes August 2026

A practical dog-friendly guide to the Saskatoon Airbnb and riverfront walk from our July 2024 stay.

Saskatoon was a quieter stop than some of the western cities: no patios, but a good neighbourhood base, a fenced yard and a walkable route downtown.

It also became one of the most memorable stops of the trip because I completed my Canadian citizenship ceremony on Zoom there, with Tilly dressed up in a bandana for the occasion.

Enclosed yardThe Airbnb had a fenced yard where Tilly could spend time outside.
Walkable baseThe neighbourhood was pleasant and not too far from downtown on foot.
Riverfront eveningWe used one evening to walk downtown and explore the South Saskatchewan Riverfront.
