The short version
We drove to Halifax Stanfield International Airport in July 2026 to meet family arriving from Scotland. Tilly could not wait loose inside the terminal, so we parked and waited outdoors until everyone arrived.
The airport’s published policy welcomes travelling pets inside only when they remain in an airline-approved carrier; assistance animals are the exception. Outdoor and post-security pet-relief areas are available, but pickup planning matters when travelling with a dog who cannot use a carrier.
